It sounds like your projecting how you handle substances in your body and thinking that we all react the same way as you.
They stop people from making decisions? That seems a bit overboard. Cigarettes are addictive because of nicotine, but alcohol and marijuana have no addictive substances. There’s no going cold turkey if you haven’t had a smoke in an hour or two.
It might be you’ve become dependent on them, and just don’t want to make the decision to quit. You should probably try and find help.
